A record of waste notes must be kept for each waste transfer, but which note is best? There are two types of notes ones for controlled waste used for most normal everyday inert items, and different type of waste note for hazardous waste and waste with persistent organic pollutants (PoPs).
The two types available are:
Duty of Care Controlled Waste Transfer Notes
&
Hazardous Waste Consignment Notes.
Two part books are for use when the transfer is between two parties usually the producer and the receiver/disposer of the waste. These books have two pages in each set and have space for two addresses – producer and receiver + details for a broker if there is one.
Each book is printed on quality NCR paper so that the details copy through to both sheets and the spine is both stapled and taped for durability. In the last 26 years no book has ever fallen apart.

This is a single note that covers multiple transfers over a period of up to a year. It is often called a season ticket. Your business can use one season ticket if all the following stay the same:
The parties involved in the transfer - the waste producer and the waste carrier or waste management site. The description of the waste being transferred. The place where the waste is transferred from one person to the other
You will need to keep a separate record of the date and amount of waste transferred under the annual note and complete a new waste transfer note if any of these conditions change.
